When you first get in touch with us, you will be offered an initial assessment, which focuses on your concerns and matches you with a counsellor most appropriate to your needs if you decide to continue with counselling. Confidentiality will be explained to you at the assessment also.

Humanistic Psychotherapy

Humanistic psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on the individual’s unique experiences, personal growth, self-actualisation, and self-discovery. It is based on the belief that individuals have an innate capacity for personal growth and self-awareness.

Key principles of humanistic therapy include empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence (genuineness) on the part of the therapist. Prominent humanistic approaches include person-centred therapy, gestalt therapy and existential therapy.

Integrative psychotherapy is an approach that combines various therapeutic modalities to create a tailored treatment plan for each client. It acknowledges that different clients may benefit from different therapeutic approaches and the therapist integrates elements from various approaches to suit the client’s unique needs and circumstances.

This approach is person-centred and flexible, allowing the therapist to draw from various psychological approaches.

Cognitive behavioural therapy is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. It's most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems.

C.B.T. is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a negative cycle.
