Finola Ó Siochrú.

M.A.. Dip. Psych., Professional Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy, Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level 3). Accredited member of IACP.

My primary aim in Counselling is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space for clients to work through whatever blocks limit their capacity to live full and rewarding lives. While my main counselling approach is Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, I also draw on other integrative methods depending on the needs of each individual client.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is a talk therapy which draws on the wisdom of the body. Informed by the latest research in Neuro-Biology, it is especially useful in dealing with the effects of trauma. This may be a purely physical trauma, such as a car accident, or more complex trauma resulting from emotional, sexual or physical abuse.

I also draw on my many years of teaching Yoga and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in helping clients to access their own healing resources.

Special areas of interest: trauma, depression, anxiety, stress.
