Do I need a referral to attend Pro Consult?

No, you can contact us directly to self-refer to our service. If you prefer you can also be referred through your GP, Mental Health Service or another organisation.

Do you have a waiting list?

Depending on the demands on the service, waiting times can be as short as a few days or as long as several weeks.

How do I book an appointment?

How long does a session last?

The length of a session is 60 minutes.

How much does Counselling/Psychotherapy cost?

The standard fee per session is €70. Depending on circumstances a lower fee can be offered.

What happens at a Counselling/Psychotherapy session?

After your initial assessment you will be assigned to a therapist suitable to your needs. The therapist will work with you to build a strong therapeutic relationship so they can support and guide you in addressing the difficulties you are experiencing in your life.

How long do I need to attend therapy?

There is no time limit on the number of sessions you can attend. We would advise that you attend for six weekly sessions and review after this.

Is Counselling and Psychotherapy confidential?

Yes, in general all issues you discuss with your therapist are confidential. However it is important to point out that in certain circumstances ethical and legal obligations must be considered, such as the Child Protection Act, which protects the rights and welfare of children and minors. The therapist will fully explain confidentially to you at your initial assessment.

Is Counselling/Psychotherapy covered by health insurance?

You may be able to reclaim a contribution towards visits depending on your insurer and your plan. Contact your health insurance provider for more information.
